Good footcare encourages increased mobility and independence and reduces risk of falls.
Braveheart Top Toes provides a personal toenail clipping service to anyone who has no underlying medical conditions that requires NHS treatment but is unable to cut their own toenails.
Clients can receive toenail clipping every 8-10 weeks, carried out by a Personal Footcare Volunteer. All Personal Footcare Volunteers have been trained by NHS Forth Valley Podiatry team and have learned the skills to carry out basic foot assessments, nail clipping, filing and give foot care advice.
The Process: If you are new to Top Toes, we require to register you with our service, which involves going through a short form over the phone. Each appointment incurs a £20 charge in order to cover our costs.
Once registered, when you attend your first appointment, we will issue you with your own clipper pack and you should bring this to each appointment. We will also book your next appointment 8-10 weeks later.
For more information on our service, please phone our office on 01324 633505.
